Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations reports to the President and works closely with other functional leaders in the company including those in Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales and Finance. The Director of Operations will lead all Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, and Supply Chain activities for Marlen manufacturing. The position will drive efficiencies through the use of Lean Manufacturing techniques and ensure consistency of standards, practices, and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide overall strategic direction for scheduling, production capacity and planning to meet on-time delivery.
- Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to ensure production schedule is achievable.
- Provide oversight and guidance in Company Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Promote the growth of the Company's Continuous Improvement and Safety culture.
- Maintain and continue to develop a Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement staff capable of achieving strategic and annual objectives.
- Lead the Policy Deployment process with alignment to long-term strategic objectives.
- Leads implementation of the quality standards in sustainable manner.
- Prepare and manage production budgets.
- Influence teams to support the culture and empower the team.
- Work with customers to articulate value propositions and production.
- Provide successful leadership to an operations team.
- Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing organization.
- Minimum 5 years in senior management role.
- An undergraduate degree in engineering, operations, or related field required.
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification (desired, not mandatory).
- Demonstrated success and experience in leading a Lean organization.
- Ability to guide and teach others in the Continuous Improvement tool set.
- Good understanding of financial measurements.
- Ability to easily interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Occasional travel is required to support business objectives.
- Labor relations experience is strongly preferred.
