Summary:

Millwood, Inc., is a leading provider of pallets, unit load technology, custom engineered material handling solutions, erosion control, wood waste recycling and removal services across the continental United States. Millwood is currently seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician

who will be responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the setup and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.

This includes the installation of electrical wiring in buildings and poles, troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and blackouts, and performing repairs on appliances. Given the inherent risks involved in this role, we require individuals who prioritize safety and adhere to precautionary measures.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience working with various electrical devices and systems. Our overarching goal is to ensure the establishment and upkeep of reliable electrical connections, reducing the likelihood of accidents and optimizing the usability of electricity across all facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing electrical issues by reading diagrams and blueprints
  • Installing and repairing wiring and conductive elements and electrical components in buildings and other structures
  • Testing and inspecting electrical work like wiring and lighting to ensure safe installation and compliance with regulatory codes
  • Planning and designing layouts of fixtures, wiring pathways and other electrical elements inside commercial and residential buildings
  • Identifying and mitigating safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issues
  • Ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards
  • Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgets
  • Monitor maintenance and inspection plans

Requirements and skills

  • Diploma in relevant vocational training
  • Valid license to practice profession, with 5+ years’ experience
  • Experience in industrial electrical systems
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
