Their mission-critical expertise makes them a trusted partner for complex data center and critical infrastructure projects.Job DescriptionAs a Commissioning Coordinator, you'll be the central orchestrator ensuring all commissioning activities run smoothly and on schedule for a critical mission-critical construction project. This role demands someone who can take ownership of the master commissioning schedule, drive communication across multiple stakeholders, and ensure that every milestone is met with precision. Working on-site in Ashburn, VA, you'll coordinate field teams, validate trade readiness, and lead commissioning coordination meetings that keep complex MEP systems on track.Your work will directly impact the successful delivery of mission-critical infrastructure, requiring you to bridge the gap between subcontractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and owner representatives. You'll supplement the project team by organizing the proper planning, installation, startup, and commissioning of key MEP equipment in data center environments. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced construction environments, excels at coordination and communication, and has deep knowledge of MEP systems in mission-critical facilities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOwn and maintain the master commissioning schedule and ensure alignment with the P6 scheduleProvide weekly executive summaries and commissioning updates to the project teamCoordinate field team workload and ensure commissioning milestones are metValidate trade readiness ahead of commissioning activities (L3–L5)Drive communication between subcontractors, vendors, commissioning agent, and owner representativesLead all commissioning coordination meetings, including agenda preparation and issue escalationCoordinate commissioning documentation with subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agentsTrack MEP related MOPs and cutover activities for assigned projectsProcess vendor startup and commissioning activitiesSupport and schedule 3D Model coordination for assigned projectsAssist Project Management Team with preconstruction MEP information managementReview MEP submittals prior to submission and provide potential solutions for MEP-related RFIsTrack MEP construction progress and work with subcontractors and vendors to close punch list itemsAssist with organizing MEP client trainingProvide guidance and mentoring to MEP team members on MEP concepts and installation detailsRequired Experience/SkillsProven experience in commissioning coordination for mission-critical or data center construction projectsStrong knowledge of MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) in mission-critical environmentsExperience with master commissioning schedule development and maintenanceProficiency with P6 scheduling softwareExperience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and owner representativesStrong understanding of commissioning documentation requirements and processesKnowledge of startup and commissioning procedures for critical MEP equipmentExperience with 3D modeling coordination and MEP submittal reviewUnderstanding of MOPs (Method of Procedures) and cutover activitiesStrong organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced construction environmentsExcellent communication and meeting facilitation skillsAbility to validate trade readiness and ensure milestone completionExperience with punch list closure and quality control processesAbility to start immediatelyNice-to-HavesExperience with healthcare or tenant improvement projectsBackground in MEP installation or field operationsFamiliarity with virtual construction technologiesExperience mentoring or training junior team membersKnowledge of sustainability practices in constructionEducationNo minimum education requirementPay & Benefits SummaryPay Rate: Up to $90.00 - $95.00/hour (W2)Contract duration through June/July 2026Opportunity to work on high-profile mission-critical infrastructure projectsCollaborative team environment with employee-owned company cultureStart ImmediatelyJoin a national leader in mission-critical construction and take ownership of commissioning coordination on a critical project.
