A/V Technician

Optomi, in partnership with a leader within the consulting industry, is seeking an experienced Audio & Visual Technician for their Basking Ridge, NJ location This A/V Tech will be responsible for supporting and maintaining in-house audio-visual equipment and non-print media assets. This includes operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading various electronic products while ensuring their optimal performance. This person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training and assistance where required.

Experience of the right candidate:

  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of Audio-Visual & VC Systems
  • Experience of installing AV & IT hardware and software, including configuration, diagnosing, and resolving problems
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Competent to a high level of computer literacy
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining in-house audio-visual equipment and non-print media assets. This includes operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading various electronic products while ensuring their optimal performance. This person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training and assistance where required.
  • Implement and Support Audio Visual communication solutions.
  • Set up, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as meetings, meeting rooms, presentations.
  • General hardware break/fix to include diagnostics and troubleshooting to Audio/Visual (AV) equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and software issues to maintain business continuity of AV systems.
  • Diagnose, and troubleshoot peripheral equipment and handhelds to AV equipment.
  • Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of A/V hardware problems for a variety of end users and recommend and implement corrective solutions.
  • Diagnose and correct multi-media system issues.
  • Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality.
  • Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.
  • Test and resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain high level of customer service and high standard of technical execution for a variety of events under time and budget constraints.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future A/V equipment and corporate technology needs.
  • Collaborate with organizational policymakers to establish and enforce proper A/V practices and procedure.
  • Monitor and document daily service activity, including hardware and software service and any requested meeting support.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and customer interaction.
