We are currently looking for a Project Manager & Project Engineer who can join our dynamic Northern California management team. We will be replacing an existing steel girder/truss bridge that spans the Klamath River along State Route 96 near Horse Creek, CA. The new structure will be a three span box girder bridge, which will require a trestle. In addition to the box girder bridge, major work includes 43,000 Cy of Rock Excavation. The closest major city is Yreka, which is 35 miles east of the project location. In addition, we will have other alternative delivery (CMAR & CMGC) projects in the area (Dunsmuir) that you can assist with as well if you are the type of person that wants to multi task and likes to be involved in a variety of projects.


We are looking for a person that is capable of managing the project and has experience in performing layout of various items, shooting grades, ordering materials, supporting the field, thinking outside the box, tracking costs and providing budgets to foreman with detail labor and equipment assumptions, is detailed oriented with experience heavy civil bridge construction. The position is the glue on the project and will integrate with the project team. This position is responsible to build and maintain a strong relationship with the subcontractors, owner, suppliers and engineers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work On Site to help solve problems that occur during construction
  • Shoot Grades, Perform Layout and Other on Site Engineering Work
  • Partner with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the Myers contract with Caltrans
  • Monitor project costs and Job Cost Report
  • Analyze and forecast monthly Total Cost Projection reports
  • Monitor project labor
  • Lead the project’s quality process
  • Develop, schedule and lead project teams on submittals, RFI's and Change Orders
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the Designer, vendors, subcontractors and owners
  • Implement all applicable Safety Programs.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • 3+ Years of Experience in highly complex and related highway or structures construction projects in California.
  • Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work
  • Experience leading successful project team, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with external entities
  • Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills.
