Ideal candidates bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to brokers and clients.Key Responsibilities:Analyze insurance applications and evaluate risks associated with small business accounts in the E&S marketDetermine appropriate rates, terms, and conditions for coverage based on risk analysis and market trendsCollaborate with brokers to gather necessary information, provide clarification, and negotiate terms and conditionsUtilize underwriting guidelines and company standards to make sound underwriting decisionsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes affecting the E&S marketBuild and maintain strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders to promote effective communication and collaborationAssist in developing and implementing underwriting strategies to achieve profitability and growth objectivesReview and approve endorsements, audits, and other policy changes as necessaryTravel as needed for client meetings, training sessions, and industry eventsQualificationsUnderstanding of insurance principles, practices, and regulations related to E&S linesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detailProven ability to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisionsExceptional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentEducation & Experience:Bachelor's degree2-3 years underwriting experience, preferably with multiple linesProfessional certifications (e.g., CPCU, AU, or others) are a plusExperience underwriting E&S Small business preferredExcellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookChubb is a world leader in insurance.
