Visas Accepted H1B Specialty Pediatrics - Gastroenterology Practice Details Sanford Health is currently seeking BC/BE Pediatric Gastroenterologists to join our department at Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Join a dynamic team of 20 pediatric specialties including pediatric surgery, with our own 2 on-staff pediatric surgeons. • Clinic-based practice with hospital consults throughout the Children's Hospital (NICU, Peds, PICU) • Team consists of 1 MD and 1 Advanced Practice Provider • Work closely with our three on-staff Board Certified pediatric surgeons • Endoscopy included in the practice for both hospital and clinic patients • Largest team of more than 65 board certified, fellowship-trained pediatricians and pediatric specialists in the region • Region's only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center • Sanford Medical Center houses a 12 bed PICU, with additional flex beds if needed. Floor shared with 24 bed pediatric unit, and 40-bed Level III NICU. • Member of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals • Sanford Health Fargo serves a large catchment area of 1.2 million throughout ND, MN and parts of SD and MT • Joint appointment as clinical faculty with Department of Pediatrics at UND School of Medicine and Health Science teaching medical students & family medicine residents as well as an upcoming pediatric residency in 2024 Community Description The Fargo-Moorhead and West Fargo metro area is a diverse, family-oriented community of 216,000 people that offers high quality of life and low cost of living. Job Description Pediatric Gastroenterology Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, and provide consultative services and treatment to infants, children, adolescents and young adults presenting with diseases of the digestive system, including the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using lighted scopes to see internal organs. Qualifications M.D. or D.O. degree. Experience: Can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a fellowship shall provide his/her fellowship log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services for at least 50 patients in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant's clinic activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes. Successful completion of a Pediatric residency followed by successful completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology that is accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
