Job Description:

As a Dog Trainer at Play Dog Play, you will be responsible for designing and implementing effective training programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each dog and their owner. You will work closely with clients to address behavioral issues, teach obedience commands, and foster a strong bond between pets and their families.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one training sessions and group classes for dogs of all ages and breeds.
  • Develop personalized training plans based on client goals, dog behavior assessments, and best practices.
  • Utilize techniques via conditioning work to encourage desired behaviors and discourage unwanted behaviors.
  • Provide clients with guidance and support on dog care, training techniques, and behavior management.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of training programs, making adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal results.
  • Stay updated on the latest training methods, industry trends, and advancements in canine behavior science.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, client interactions, and dog progress.
  • Promote a safe and positive training environment for both dogs and clients.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a professional dog trainer with a strong track record of successful training outcomes.
  • Certification from a recognized dog training organization is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of canine behavior, learning theory, and conditioning techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and their dogs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
