Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
Employment Type: FullTime 36 hours per week Variable Shifts
Reports to: FSED Leadership and Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor
Under the direct supervision of the FSED Leadership the Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing highquality sonography and if certified as a Radiology Technologist Xray imaging. These diagnostic imaging services are provided in a safe and effective manner to ist in the diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The technologist will also be trained in various patient care tasks such as performing vital signs EKGs wound care orthopedic splinting and other duties as igned.
The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor will provide oversight of clinical ss quality urance (QAs) and competencies acting on behalf of the FSED Nurse Manager. The ideal candidate will present themselves professionally work well within a multidisciplinary team have excellent communication ss and adhere to Insert Organization Name's policies and vision statement.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures.
- If certified perform Xray imaging when needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging results for patient diagnosis.
- Perform patient care activities such as taking vital signs conducting EKGs isting with wound care and orthopedic splinting.
- Ensure imaging quality and patient safety while adhering to regulatory standards.
- ist with department quality urance (QA) processes and maintain required competencies.
- Follow all safety protocols infection control procedures and departmental policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients and team members providing compionate care and patient education.
- Education: Completion of an approved Ultrasound Technology Training Program.
- ociate’s Degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited institution is required.
- Equivalent education/experience may be considered in lieu of an AA Degree.
- Certification:
- National certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) upon hire or
- National Registered Technologist Sonography upon hire.
- BLS Certification from the American Heart ociation upon hire.
- Licensure: Washington State Radiologic Technologist license upon hire.
- Certification: Registered Technologist Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.
- Experience: 1 year of experience as a registered sonographer or registryeligible sonographer.
- FullTime (36 hours per week) with variable shifts.
- Free Standing Emergency Department with a fastpaced and dynamic work environment.
- Must be able to ist with patient positioning and lift equipment as needed.
