We are seeking a skilled Echo/Cardiovascular Technologist (Echo Tech) to join our team in Galveston, TX. As an Echo Tech, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Job Summary:As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for operating the cardiac ultrasound machine, ensuring accurate images are obtained, and passing them on to physicians for medical interpretation. You will also be responsible for preparing and caring for patients undergoing echocardiograms.
Key Responsibilities:- Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
- Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies
- Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler Exams
- Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards
- Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations
- Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
- Perform all related processing required for each completed study
- Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
- 1 year of experience as an Echo Tech
- BLS certification
- ARDMS or CCI National Certification
- State-specific licensing when required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
