Quality Engineer II

P-DPD-001Job Title: Quality EngineerLocation: Simi Valley, CAJob Type: Direct HirePosition Summary Monitors, tests, and inspects products to ensure they meet specified standards, are free of flaws, and function as designed. Works in laboratory settings running tests and duplicating real-world conditions, using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, volt meters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and electronic inspection equipment. Participates in the development of testing and inspection activities associated with product development and all stages of manufacturing. Defines and conducts both systematic/methodical and random/arbitrary tests to ensure proper performance of products. Reviews and creates inspection forms, records, techniques, and procedures for accuracy and relevance and provides changes when necessary. Leads/Facilitates Shop Floor Quality Improvement activities, including conducting Floor audits and training inspection teams or operators on effective and efficient in-process part inspections. Engages in Material Review Board (MRB) investigation/disposition process, including Root Cause/Corrective Action activities. Facilitates Corrective & Preventive Action (CPA) activities, including monitoring/tracking open corrective action activities assigned to others while working with owners for rapid closure and escalating when necessary. Reads and interprets drawings that include GD&T and multi-level Bills Of Materials. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration. Reviews and modifies Manufacturing Work Instructions and Quality Inspection plans. Reviews and approves First Article, Final inspection reports, and drawing/specification change requests. Collaborates with Manufacturing and Design Engineering to create Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans. Leads Customer escapes containments and Root Cause Corrective Action utilizing advanced problem-solving techniques. Provides training to employees on Quality related topics. Interfaces with Customer Quality, Engineering, and Government Reps for source surveillance activities. Performs internal audits of processes using inspection results and statistical techniques to provide timely, accurate product analysis. Participates in root cause analysis initiatives for process-related concerns. Analyzes audit results and determines proper corrective and preventative action. Makes the final decision on the acceptability of the product. Reviews Customer Purchase Orders/ Contracts for Quality requirements and generates a Compliance Matrix. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.Responsibilities Strong knowledge of quality engineering processes and regulatory requirements. Strong ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving. Strong customer orientation. Demonstrated analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems. Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes, or services. Ability to explain a range of complex technical information. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task. Strong prioritization skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and database management tools. Maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction, and people productivity.Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Engineering (Required) | Master's is preferred. Experience: Min 3-7 years experience in quality or manufacturing-related discipline and 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
