Enovis Surgical offers surgeons and their patients a full range of primary and revision implants for hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow reconstructive joint surgeries, in addition to the tools and digital health technology needed in today‘s changing healthcare environment.
Job Title/High Level Position Summary:
Works with a cross-functional product team consisting of upper-level product development engineers, marketing product managers, and manufacturing engineers in the manufacturing of surgical instruments and implant medical devices. Interprets engineering drawings into required surgical instruments and implants. Provides design for manufacturability support to engineering as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates as an active member of the R&D Services Team:
- Confers with cross-function teams (by way of example and not exclusion, Manufacturing Engineering, NPD Engineering and Specials Engineering); accepts and completes tasks as assigned.
- Uses CAM Software (MasterCam) to create all necessary programs for completion of required task.
- Utilizes extensive knowledge of operational and manufacturing principles and advance and efficient machine skills to timely and efficiently produce complex or difficult prototype and production parts to required specifications.
- Inspects precision parts and has complete latitude to make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- Works with a wide variety of materials, tooling and machine operations.
- Interprets complex engineering drawings and sketches to plan, layout, and establish set-up procedures.
- Inspects first-run and in-process parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Promptly and accurately completes all required recordkeeping.
- Performs machine maintenance and keeps machine and surrounding area clean, safe, and organized.
- Develops and recommends new methods to improve machine processes.
- Maintains security and confidentially.
- Responsible for keeping all labor hours with time system accurately.
- May provide training and guidance to less experienced staff.
- Works under the supervision of the Product Development Support Manager.
Minimum Basic Qualifications:
- HS Diploma
- 10+ Yrs Experience with CNC Mills and Lathes.
- Experience in medical devices and/or orthopedics preferred.
- Experience with 3D CAD packages (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with CAM packages (MasterCam preferred)
- 5-Axis CNC Programming and Wire EDM experience a plus.
