The incumbent is responsible for serving food and beverage to our guests to create an exceptional guest experience. They are to provide the highest level of service in support of the mission, core values, standards, and goals established by the company.Core responsibilities include:Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a genuinely warm and friendly manner using professional and Kessler standard nomenclatureOperate the telephone system, answering calls within three (3) rings, using the correct salutation and telephone etiquetteMaintain the integrity of the guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key controlMaintain the integrity of Company proprietary information and protect Company assetsMaintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, beer, liquor, and winePresent menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and beverage.Explain, pair and recommend wine from the wine listServe food and beverage in a genuine, friendly, professional, and efficient manner consistent with the Kessler image and standardsClears and resets counters or tables after each course.Assists dining room servers in the food and beverage service sets tables, serve guests as directed by the server, keep menus clean, the clean table between servings, menu knowledge.Assists with providing tables with beverages.Removes solid linens and replaces them with clean linen.Transports dirty dishes to the dishwashing station.Polish silver and glass as needed.Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and beverage.Seat guests in the dining roomExplain, pair and recommend wine from the wine listServe food and beverage in a genuine, friendly, professional, and efficient manner consistent with the Kessler image and standardsRelays orders to kitchen through POS and helps serve courses from kitchen and service barsTotal's bill and accepts paymentProficiently utilizes the property management systems and follow cash handling proceduresSets up bar & dining room in a thorough and swift mannerSets up dining room when needed in a thorough and swift mannerRelays orders to kitchen through POS and helps serve courses from kitchen and service barsTotal's bill and accepts paymentClears and resets tables at conclusion of each courseAssist bartenders as neededStock and polish glasswareComplete opening and closing procedures as well as daily side-workProficiently utilizes the property management systems and follow cash handling proceduresMaintain complete knowledge in the use of all office equipment, property management systems, and access according to specificationsMaintain a neat and organized work area to include adhering to sanitation standards according to state law and health codesMaintain complete knowledge and comply with company policies and proceduresMaintain neat, clean, and professional appearance according to standardsFollow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditionsWelcome and acknowledge guests with disabilities and follow proper procedures to accommodate needs.Develop and maintain a positive working relationship and support the team to achieve our goalsAttend required training and meetingsAll other duties as assigned, planned or un-plannedKnowledge, skills, and abilities include:Knowledge of wine, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beveragesKnowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniquesAbility to perform all tasks related to cocktail server and proficiently use job-related software, property management systems, and office equipmentAbility to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment and effectively solve problemsAbility to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service at multiple tables at a timeAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manualsAbility to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, upgrades, and percentagesStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Minimum qualifications include:High school diploma, GED Degree, or related training equivalent - required1+ year of relevant work experience in similar scope and title requiredExperience within luxury brand/markets - requiredStudent or graduate of hotel management preferredSupervisory responsibilities include:NoneWork environment includes:Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of or less than 40 hours with or without notice.Physical demands include:While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to see, hear, reach, use fingers to handle and feel, and stand and walk up to 8 hours daily.Push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs.While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting and standing for long and short periods of time.The Kessler Collection is proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer.
