Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process integrity from product launch through end of production. You will be accountable for creating processes and documentation that support: manufacturing, internal and external activities related to development, changes, qualification, optimization as well as product and process certification. Contribute to continual improvement efforts such as: lean manufacturing, six-sigma, process error proofing, problem solving/resolution. In addition to the above, this role will lead Forsee North America’s IATF 16949 documentation/certification activities.


This position will be based full-time on-site in the North America facility in Hilliard, OH and reports to the Site Director, North America. The Quality Engineer shall perform all duties in a manner consistent with Forsee Power’s Values and Code of Conduct.


Scope of responsibility includes duties customary to the role, such as:

  • Lead and direct internal and external Quality system events such as IATF-16949 audits/certification
  • Achieve objectives in support of company production, quality, ESG, and safety goals
  • Work effectively with all associates for continual improvement and implementation of methods, procedures, and policies
  • Communicate effectively with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
  • Attend and participate in department meetings, plant meetings, and training; participate in customer visitations and communicate with customer when needed
  • Promote and practice “safety first” by immediately addressing any hazards, defective equipment, or unsafe conditions
  • Ensure that customer requirements are incorporated into product manufacturing specifications and lead process risk and failure analysis
  • This position will manage data, prioritization, reporting, processes, safety, and other items necessary for the team to deliver and support all customer deliveries by Forsee USA
  • Must work with customer needs and be passionate about exceeding their expectations
  • Responsible for PPAP documentation creation, management, and ongoing updates
  • Act as the key quality contact for customers during development, and 0km claims
  • Facilitate the transition from development to production. Lead the quality deliverables (APQP) through the project stage gate process
  • Work with regulatory and engineering on the customer market compliance and requirements
  • Ensure lessons learned are applied to current production and future programs
  • Lead teams creating Process Control Plans and PFMEA’s to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability risks are identified and mitigated
  • Create and maintain quality documentation, such as Process Flow, PFMEA, control plans. procedures, receiving inspection plans, etc.
  • Lead quality issue resolution with Root Cause analysis and problem-solving skills; review production issues and articulate proper problem ownership. Assign Non-Conforming Reports (NCR’s)
  • Travel to suppliers to perform audits, root cause investigation, and countermeasure confirmation
  • Must be comfortable interacting with all levels or leadership, both internal at Forsee but also external at customers and suppliers
  • Collaborate and communicate with peers at Forsee manufacturing sites globally to share best practices


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically & internationally must possess a valid passport or be able to obtain a valid passport
  • English fluency, French or Chinese language is a plus
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a technical role
  • APQP experience within Automotive/Manufacturing
  • Strong problem-solving skills supported by structured Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience maintaining or obtaining QMS certification such as ISO, IATF, VDA, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Internal Auditor Experience a plus
  • Knowledge of quality and continuous improvement tools
  • Ability to use Basic hand tools, precision lab equipment, and measuring devices
  • Familiarity with conflict resolution, and crisis management techniques
  • Ability to interpret complex statistical data and draw conclusions, Cpk, DOE, etc.

Strong candidate likely has:


  • Participated or led ISO / IATF QMS certification
  • Battery systems experience is highly desirable
  • Complex electromechanical manufacturing experience
  • Lean six sigma certification
  • High ability to quickly adapt and learn complex products and technologies
  • Resides in or willing to relocate to the greater Columbus, Ohio area (no relocation assistance available)


Physical Requirements

  • Move equipment/product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to be trained to operate powered electric forklift
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with noise, heat and cold conditions
  • Wear protective clothing and PPE as needed
