Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in San Marcos, Texas. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization
Responsibilities:
- Patient Escort and Assistance: Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
- Patient Data Recording: Record patient data before each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Preparation and Stocking: Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed, ensuring all rooms adhere to disinfection protocols.
- Administrative Support: Perform various administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, and entering orders under a provider’s supervision.
- Patient Communication and Prescription Management: Answer patient telephone calls, phone in prescriptions, and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RNs. Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Medical Assistant certification or registration is required.
- Minimum three years of experience as a medical assistant.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
Additional Information:
- Location: San Antonio, Texas
- Job Type: contract to hire.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday – 08:30 am to 05:00 pm
- Pay Range: $ 18.00 to 20.00/hour.
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
