Clinical trials advance our clinical services, bringing the newest ideas to patient care. We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis. Post-Acute - PT, OT, SLP. Acute Rehab Center 30 beds of inpatient rehab. Serves multiple diagnoses including neuro, ortho, oncology, amputee, spinal cord injury, transplant, etc. Primarily adults, however see adolescents ages 13+. Approximately 50 therapy and tech staff at the 2 post-acute units (core and casual) Highly Collaborative between all disciplines along with MD/Physiatrist, rehab nursing, social work, dietary, etc., with a primary goal to get patients home. This position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the night (11pm-7:30a) shift, 8 hour shifts, every other weekend. Responsibilities Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include: Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding, Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams, Oral hygiene, Specimen collection/testing, Position/ambulating, Changing linens, Promptly answers call lights. Assists nurse in monitoring patient condition. Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, and oxygen saturation. Places patient on/off monitors or equipment. Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner. Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients. Orients patient/family to environment. Assures the patient's belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer and discharge. Transports patients, equipment, specimen and supplies. Assures patients get to appointment on time. Uses transfer belt when assisting patients with transfers and/or ambulation. Cleans sets up, and maintains rooms and equipment. Orders and stocks supplies. Accurately documents tasks performed in appropriate form.
