PLC Controls Engineer


Global CPG company is looking for a PLC Controls Engineer with machine control experience. In this role you will design, program, and test the equipment, and then install the system at the customer's location.

The ideal candidate has experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and associated HMI programs. Experience with servo control is also strongly desired.


This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Relocation assistance is provided.

The company is also offering a $10K sign-on bonus.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a fully documented and accurate electrical design and electrical controls programs that comply with established industry standards.
  • Maintain a cost balance for the electrical design that achieves the lowest base cost with the highest manufacturing efficiency and lowest warranty. This balance should also account for the highest operational efficiency and lowest maintenance requirement.
  • Produce electrical design/program changes to support sale orders, product improvements, change requests and non-conformances for assigned product lines.
  • Provide timely, complete, and consistent technical support to internal and external business customers as required in support of assigned product lines.
  • Support the Controls Team to increase output, standardization, and repeatability of designs and programs through developing and continuously improving engineering tools and work processes.


Requirements:

  • Degreed Engineer (preferably electrical, will consider mechanical or chemical).
  • 4+ years of professional experience in Rockwell Allen-Bradley Controls Platforms.
  • Design experience with Servo System stronlgly desired.
  • Proficient with CAD. AutoCAD or SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to domestic customer locations (+/- 25%)
