Job Title: RN (Registered Nurse) Job Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Flexibility to float and work varied shifts as needed Job Description: - Work in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16 patients. - Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3 for adults and 1:2-4 for pediatrics. - Treat conditions such as sepsis, post-stent procedures, pacemaker placements, strokes, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. - Titrate various drips including cardiac, insulin, and sedation. - Perform tasks associated with respiratory therapy equipment, from nasal cannulas to ventilators. - Read and interpret telemetry and monitor strips. - Abide by shift schedules of 0630-1830 and 1830-0630. - Self-scheduling is available for core staff; travelers are added accordingly. - Meet weekend work requirements, which occur every other weekend. - Rotate holiday shifts based on weekend group assignments. - Be prepared to float to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and occasionally to Medical-Surgical units. - Undergo three shifts of unit-specific orientation. - Use the EPIC charting system.
