If so, the Student Support Specialist position with SmartStart Education is the perfect opportunity for you About SmartStart Education: SmartStart Education, LLC is dedicated to providing innovative academic solutions, led by experienced educators. We specialize in staffing for grades K-12 and partner with schools and districts to deliver exceptional education professionals for long-term substitute roles and administrative staff needs. We also offer comprehensive tutoring programs, including in-class, high-dosage tutoring to help students overcome challenges and close learning gaps. Position Details: This position begins as soon as possible and concludes on June 26, 2026. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, located at a high school in Bronx, NY. As a Student Support Specialist, you will: Supervise hallways and bathrooms to promote student safety and positive behavior. Facilitate student movement during class transitions, ensuring timely arrivals. Assist in supervising the cafeteria and common areas during lunch and specific times as needed. Provide general support to administrators and staff upon request. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration. Are You a Good Fit? If you are excited about this opportunity, please confirm that you meet the following minimum qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. (Note: Applications with pending graduation dates will not be considered.) At least 6 months of experience in a student support or youth advising role, preferably in a school or educational setting. A strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students and communities, including issues of racial, socio-economic, and cultural disparity. A genuine passion and commitment to fostering student success. Exemplary punctuality, with a strong record of timely attendance and commitment to schedules. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders. A reliable means of transportation to the designated work location.
