Senior Design EngineerSelectek is hiring for a Senior Design Engineer in the Rochester, NY area.Required:Licensed Professional EngineerGeotechnical and structural engineering experienceExperience in foundation design, deep foundation systems, and design softwareAbility to work (independently and in a team setting) under pressure with challenging deadlinesAdvanced computer program skills specifically with various CAD programs, Microsoft Office 365Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and possess a high level of written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead, mentor, and coach a team of junior engineersMust have authorization to work in the United StatesAccess to airport for monthly trips to Rochester, NY (if outside of area)Job Duties & Responsibilities:Perform preliminary pile designs, takeoffs, and quotationsReview and understand the project plans, specification, and geotechnical reportCoordinate project pile/foundation designsProvide design and material recommendations including Value Engineering (VE) pile/foundation design alternatesCollaborate with the team to understand client and project needs to offer most economical designCoordinate and participate in conference calls between the project teamsPrepare preliminary design submittal and coordinate material quote with the teamExecute signed & sealed design submittals:Verify all project information (plans, specification, and geotechnical report) is available and adequate for the design processExecute submittal completion within project schedule and budgetReview and execute any revisions required, while maintaining original design intent and budgetAddress design RFI'sProvide supporting documentation as requiredProvide technical sales support to effectively pitch VE alternates to clients and project engineersRepresent Ideal at tradeshows, professional conferences, and training sessionsProvide technical presentations to engineering firms (PDH accredited)Mentor and coach junior engineersDevelop and foster strong professional relationships with respected engineers and industry leaders to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing within the specific industryIf candidate is remote:Candidate location: Midwest or East Coast that has a direct flight to Rochester, NY (example: Atlanta or Chicago)Job Details:This person will mentor junior engineers on complicated designs, design deep ground foundations once solid borings are done, and take info/provide solutions on their customer's designs to save customer time/money.Sponsorship:No, must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card HolderPay range:$105,000 - $145,000 annual salaryTerm of assignment:Direct HireLocation of job:Rochester, NY areaHours and shift:Monday Friday, 8AM 5PMWork from home or remote:Yes, must be in office at least one week per month though.
