International logistics and freight forwarding company in the Manhasset, NY area is seeking an experienced Air and Ocean Import Specialist.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Process and manage our clients Purchase Orders and documentation related to customs clearance,
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with origin teams, SSL, Airlines and customers providing full shipping details, pricing, tracking and tracing and updates on any delays,
  • Confirm all details on purchase orders with suppliers and clients to ensure accuracy in time of shipping as well as quantities to be shipped or reason for delay,
  • Coordinate with Customs Broker Division to ensure timely entry is done and Delivery Orders are out in time,
  • Follow up on destination to ensure all releases are in order to expedite delivery of cargo with no delay,
  • Perform all relevant milestone updates in the system allowing us to close and invoice the file on time with no delays.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Minimum 5 years logistics experience required
  • Mandarin and/or Spanish speaking/writing skills a plus
  • Microsoft Office
  • Clear Verbal and communication skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Working Knowledge of Import/Export regulations related to Ocean and Air Transportation
  • Career and Goal oriented
