Our client is centrally located in Houston and is looking for a newly created Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst to join their team. This role will focus on operational budgeting, planning, reporting, and analysis of their huge portfolio of investments. This role is very visible to the executive management team of the PE firm. The role works closely with the executive management team (e.g., President/CEO, CFO, and VP-Operations) who lead each portfolio investment company.
Role overview:
- Engage in financial planning and analysis of the firm's portfolio investment companies.
- Collaborate with other team members in the budget process for the portfolio.
- Engage in special projects for the PE firm's CFO and address special requests for others on the firm's executive leadership team.
- Lead the team in continuing to automate the analysis process and implement industry best practices.
- Support the firm's efforts to implement KPI's and other operational metrics in the firm's portfolio.
Requirements:
- BBA in Accounting or Finance is required. Master’s degree in accounting (or MPA) or finance or an MBA is preferred.
- 1-2 or more years of progressive experience in Big4 audit.
- CPA is also a big plus but not required.
- Must operate well in a highly visible, intense environment with stringent deadlines.
- Must be comfortable leading and following.
- Must be "hands on" in the details.
- Must be comfortable making formal presentations to executive management.
- The ability to effectively use advanced data analytics tools is a plus.
