Warehouse AssociateLocation: Edward Don & Company - Miramar, FLTime Type: Full timeCompensation: $19.89 +.50 shift differentialSun-Thu 5:00pm - finish, 8+ hour shift, OT mandatorySummaryResponsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.Essential DutiesAccurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.Load merchandise into appropriate truck.Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, "Preferred Method Standard".Identify and report slot and put-away problems.Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.Perform house keeping duties as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will have ability to:Operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker.Lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift.Bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time.Successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements.Operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices.Work EnvironmentJob is performed in a warehouse/operations environment.Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.This is a full-time position.Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.The position does not require travel.QualificationsRequired:Must be at least 18 years of age.Must pass a functional capacity test.Preferred:Knowledge of SAP.1+ year warehouse experience.Previous forklift certification.Material handling equipment experience.Reach truck experience.OverviewSysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution.
