Role Overview: In this role, you will conduct thorough research on memoir donors and authors, manage the due diligence process, and reach out to these individuals to confirm permissions for online publication. Your efforts will make these valuable materials digitally accessible to a wider audience.
Project Duration:60-90 days
Work Schedule:Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work Location:
- Initial weeks: Onsite
- Majority of the project: Remote
- Occasional onsite work as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct genealogical and historical research on memoir donors and authors.
- Manage the process of obtaining permission for online publication.
- Ensure meticulous documentation and organization of research findings.
- Maintain effective communication with donors via phone and email.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in historical or genealogical research.
- Knowledge of file naming practices and metadata standards.
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Comfortable making phone calls to donors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a research library, museum, or archives setting.
- Familiarity with archival cataloging and arrangement standards.
