We are hiring for a Lab Technician II to join our Fibrous Media Group. In this role you will have the opportunity to work in a lab setting and partner with engineers conducting tests, analyzing, and reporting results. This role is hands on and based at our Bloomington, MN HQ.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of new technology, new products or modifications to existing products to meet technical requirements within time and cost constraints.

  • Consult with the test requestor and/or lab manager to determine appropriate testing methods and understand desired outcomes for standard products.

  • Set up and conduct performance tests, without supervision, using established standardized formats and procedures in order to quantify product performance.

  • May adapt procedures, process, tools equipment and techniques to meet the more complex testing requirements with the help and supervision of others.

  • Prepare accurate test data for interpretation and analysis.

  • Appropriately identify test equipment issues and communicate them to more senior level technicians or supervisors.

  • Operate and maintain lab equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency of testing.

  • Assist with equipment calibration and perform basic test bench maintenance under supervision.

  • Keep lab manager informed of testing activity/challenges on an ongoing basis.

  • Performs operational lab duties as apparent or as assigned.

  • Effectively meet established deadlines.

  • Participate in lab continuous improvement initiatives and will perform laboratory housekeeping and other administrative duties as directed.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Other duties and responsible may be required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 2+ year(s) of related experience (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)

  • Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a test technician or related mechanical field

  • Bachelor‘s Degree

  • Proficient computer literacy skills (MS Office)

  • Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from supervisors and team members

  • Ability to communicate concisely and accurately to individuals and small groups

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness of data, reports, records, etc.

  • Ability to define a problem and make quality decisions based on analysis, experience and sound judgment

  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task

  • Ability to recognize the importance of common goals and working with others to achieve them
