Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.As a Power Equipment Operator, you're an essential part of our behind-the-scenes teamkeeping things moving so customers get what they need, when they need it. You'll operate powered equipment to handle merchandise safely and efficiently in our furniture, bedding, and fulfillment warehouses. The role includes the operation of various powered industrial trucks and equipment to safely and efficiently move throughout the building. Together, we deliver genuine hospitality.Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. Information regarding hours per week needed for benefit eligibility purposes can be found here.Operate Equipment Safely: Use different industrial trucks, including stock pickers and reach trucks at heights up to 40 feet. Navigate narrow aisles using power equipment to pick, pull, put away, stack, and count merchandise to meet standards.Technology: Input data accurately and efficiently using PCs, handheld computers, radio frequency equipment, or similar devices, while mastering area-specific functions across various systems (including warehouse systems and proprietary systems).Safety: Safely work in narrow aisles and up to 40 feet high with a harness while moving equipment. Report on equipment failures, damage, accidents, and environmental issues affecting safety to the committee promptly.Start your shift strong by wearing your name badge, following dress code, attending start-ups, knowing who's supporting you, checking that your work area is ready, and staying informed on daily goals.Prioritize the customer by getting to your department quickly, working with speed and accuracy, handling merchandise with care, and packing each customer's package thoughtfully and neatly.Hospitality is a feelingit starts with you. By showing up with kindness, care, and respect, you help create a workplace where everyone feels seen, valued, and included.Finish strong Stay focused through the end of your shift by tidying your workstation, returning equipment to its proper place, replenishing supplies, and taking a moment to recognize coworkers who helped make the day a success.Community: Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.Who You Are:A flexible team player who will thrive in our fast-paced environment who can switch between multiple tasks, and can work various shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.Comfortable with heights while on power equipment raising self, equipment, and merchandise up to 40 ft in the air.Previous Power Equipment experience preferred but not required.Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology.Open to being cross trained in other areas of the facility, depending on business needs.Must be able to (1) understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors, and (2) read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform:Lifting and moving items weighing up to 75 lbs.Prolonged periods (up to 12 hours) of standing/walking around the facility or department (excluding breaks).This position requires lifting, constant and repetitive movement, standing, reaching with arms and hands above eye level, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Ability to use, hear and see safety/emergency alarms and Power Industrial Truck (PIT) warning devices to ensure safety while on the warehouse floor.What We Can Offer You:Join a team where work is as rewarding as it is fun We offer a dynamic, inclusive environment with competitive pay and benefits.
