Senior Network Systems EngineerSMX is looking for a highly motivated Senior Network Systems Engineer to join our team in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren, VA. The Senior Network Systems Engineer will work as part of our team to design, implement, and manage the customer secure network infrastructures, leveraging Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP, and VoIP technologies according to DoD/Navy cybersecurity procedures and policies.This position will be onsite in Dahlgren, VA.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage secure LAN/WAN architectures for a DoD/Navy environment.Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewallsMaintain security configuration compliance and risk management in accordance with DoD/Navy policies.Enhance network security and performance using Cisco and Juniper networking technologiesImplement and optimize VoIP solutionsConduct network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizationEnsure mission-critical availability by maintaining cable plant design and network infrastructure installationsWork collaboratively with cross-functional teamsRequired Skills & ExperienceClearance Required: Secret Must be able to obtain and maintain Top SecretBachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline7+ years of professional experience in relation to design and implementation in local area network (LAN)/ wide area network (WAN) corporate environments using: Cisco, Juniper, TCP/IP and VoIP technologies with routers, switches, fiber optics, firewalls and cable plant designsIAT III certification such as CISSP, CISM, GSLC, CASP or equivalentApplication Deadline: 7/07/2025The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
