Junior Chemist

An international chemical manufacturer in the Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Formulation Chemist with an interest in customer facing support. This position is direct hire and full-time with an excellent benefits package.

Junior Formulation Chemist Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site customer support for one of our client's customers within the Grand Rapids, MI area.
• Conduct experiments and tests to analyze the properties and performance of various formulations
• Perform quality control tests to ensure products meet company standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research and development, production, and quality assurance to support product development initiatives
• Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and advancements
• Other duties as assigned by management

Junior Formulation Chemist Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field required
• Previous experience or coursework in paint formulations, coatings, or related areas preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications

This position is in a manufacturing / office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
