What's the role?
The Ratings team owns the data management and analysis for each of the 60+, and growing, credit rating agencies that contribute data, by managing quality and timely delivery of content, while also growing our data offering. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, and technology to enhance value from our data products. As a Senior Data Analyst on the Ratings team, you will play a key role in expanding Bloomberg's ratings databases to further deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will collaborate closely with global team members, domain experts, and business partners, managing priorities of different initiatives and using industry and technical knowledge to help drive decisions and generate new dataset offerings. You will work to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technical solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes. You will bring a unique combination of subject-matter-expertise in Fixed Income, good interpersonal skills, and a passion for problem solving to address our clients' needs.

We'll Trust You To:
  • Understand our customers' needs and markets to ensure data is fit for purpose, ready for use, and meets service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of partners from Engineering to Sales on product development and automation workflow implementation
  • Research new data sets to expand the coverage of our products
  • Actively communicate with business partners to facilitate smooth data ingestion with evolving technology
  • Balance the best of technical and product knowledge to implement solutions for customers
  • Implement quality control strategies including development of quality control rules
  • Contribute to the creation of best practices and guidelines for data governance
  • Proactively support customers by helping them interpret data and predicting their follow-up questions/needs
  • Apply problem-solving and data analysis skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes/overall product strategy

You'll Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, STEM, or related field/equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, including exchanges, market data providers or financial institutions
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
  • Experience working with data management paradigms and associated tools and technologies, such as the management, governance or quality assurance of data
  • Ability to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to tackle problems
  • Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to handle priorities from multiple internal and external partners
  • Ability to adapt within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proven customer service skills

We'd Love to See:
  • Proficiency using Excel as well as experience with SQL or Python
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikSense or Splunk
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and demonstrated applied data analysis skills
  • Experience transforming workflows into more timely and efficient processes
  • Experience working with ETL processes and broader data workflow engineering concepts
  • Experience and knowledge of data validation techniques and processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency
  • Awareness of regulatory standards in Credit Ratings, such as those from SEC, and experience ensuring data processes comply with industry guidelines and legal requirements
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to effectively interpret data insights and collaborate across teams, particularly with technical and client-facing stakeholders
