Position Summary:

Vallen‘s Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for providing exceptional service to Vallen‘s customers by cultivating relationships, receiving, and processing purchase orders, ensuring product availability, monitoring delivery dates, and resolving order processing issues in a timely manner. They are the primary point of contact for assigned customers for Vallen service offerings, pricing, scheduling, and shipping inquiries. In this position, you will deliver and manage inventory at customers‘ designated sites. You will perform the physical or administrative tasks involved in storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.

  • Drive Gator vehicles to transport and deliver goods to designated locations in a safe manner and in compliance with all State and Federal DOT standards and regulations.
  • Works to ensure the accuracy of shipments to the customer.
  • Assist with the VMI customer space/placement, sets up the appropriate area to receive shipment of material and stocks product in the customer‘s designated area.
  • Follows the customer order through from pick-up on location with customer to delivery and set up at customer area
  • Takes customer spot buy orders when needed inputs order information
  • Scans barcodes at customer site to generate customer orders.
  • Perform VMI functions at vending point of use areas: loading, receiving and minor repairs or changes, including mandatory communication with direct supervisor and the sales team.
  • Maintains awareness of min/max, reorder point/quantity and reports observations back to managements.
  • Recommends changes to the customer inventory levels based on usage.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as training instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interface in a customer responsive manner over the telephone and in person. Able to handle difficult customer situations with diplomacy.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • The individual must be entrepreneurial and assertive and possess the experience, skills, and attitude to be able to achieve the company‘s market share/revenue goals.
  • Willingness to learn and work on assignments that semi-routine in nature.
  • Must be a self-starter with the willingness to work with supervision.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
  • Willing to gain knowledge of company products.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities.
  • Work may be in a manufacturing environment and could have exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold, etc.
  • Safety protection may be required while in the customer‘s facility (hand, foot, and eye or other as dictated by the customer‘s safety protocols).
  • Overtime hours may be required with little advanced notice.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and may require the ability to distinguish color.#IND-JP
