As a Jr. Network Engineer, you will work under the guidance of a Senior Network Engineer to support and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Installing, configuring, and supporting local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Agency Internet Networks (AIN), Intranets, and Internet systems.
  • Maintaining network hardware and software, ensuring network availability to all system users, and performing necessary maintenance to support network uptime.
  • Providing support for projects involving network systems and translating business requirements into telecommunications solutions (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice, and Video).
  • Offering installation and operational support for voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
  • Designing, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining communications systems.
  • Configuring operating systems and security patches for host and distributed systems, and implementing incident response procedures during network or host security breaches.
  • Complying with customer, industry, and agency standards.
  • Ensuring the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with network engineering responsibilities.
  • Communicating effectively with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Analyzing and evaluating networks, identifying issues, and providing solutions to ensure efficient network operations.
  • Leading systems engineering activities within projects, from analyzing mission needs to verifying network performance.
  • Ensuring efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
  • Managing the transition and migration of networks and developing network addressing schemes.
  • Interacting with government personnel regarding technical considerations and resolving associated problems, issues, or conflicts.


What You’ll Need to Succeed:


Education: Associate’s Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience.


Required Skillset: Assisting with research and implementation of enterprise-wide network solutions to support customer business and mission goals.


  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with network infrastructure and components.
  • Evaluating and monitoring the health and performance of the network, including hardware and management software.
  • Assisting with the development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation for network configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions for customer approval before implementation.


Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI.

Required Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.


  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
  • Required Computing Environment Certification: CCNA.


Additional Requirements: Willingness and ability to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.

  • Ability to lift objects (e.g., IT hardware), reach, bend, kneel, and perform other moderately strenuous activities.
  • Travel may be required to support the mission.
