Position Summary:
Wisconsin Fertility Institute, located in the idyllic town of Middleton WI, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our dynamic team. The CRNA will be responsible for managing all anesthesia needs for our patients undergoing fertility treatments and outpatient procedures. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in administering anesthesia, monitoring patients, and ensuring the highest standard of care throughout the perioperative period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Anesthesia: Provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing various fertility-related procedures, ensuring safe and effective pain management.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations to assess patient medical histories, allergies, and surgical risks. Develop anesthesia care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Medication Management: Prepare, administer, and manage medications and anesthetic agents according to established protocols.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall condition during procedures. Adjust anesthesia as needed to maintain patient stability and comfort.
- Post-Procedure Care: Oversee patients' recovery from anesthesia, ensuring they are stable and comfortable before discharge from the recovery area.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of anesthesia care and patient responses in medical records.
- Emergency Response: Quickly and effectively respond to any anesthesia-related emergencies or complications, utilizing advanced life support techniques as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as clinic policies and procedures related to anesthesia care.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted state licensure as a CRNA.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CRNA, with prior experience in a fertility or outpatient surgical setting preferred. Must be CPR and ACLS certified.
- Skills: Proficient in the administration of various anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, and local anesthesia. Must be comfortable working alone as there will not be an Anesthesia attending on site. Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Availability: Must be available to work Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM until procedures are completed, typically around noon.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate anesthesia equipment.
- Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an outpatient fertility clinical setting with exposure to anesthetic agents and medical equipment.
Adherence to infection control protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
