This position also is responsible for daily oversight of regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations and collaboration with other management team members to support the department in its daily functions.Trains and develops a highly equipped and engaged Environmental Services Team using evidence-based techniques, process and mission metrics (KPIs) to ensure we provide a clean safe environment. Provides supervision of staff, making sound business decisions in support of the hospital's mission, vision and values. Demonstrates supervision in providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service, and value. Supervises the day to day operations of the department; ensures a clean safe environment and aesthetics to patients, family, visitors, physicians, nurses and staff as we help save lives.Demonstrates working knowledge of the cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements, proper chemical, equipment usage, and labor requirements for maintenance of furniture, furnishings, interior finishes for all areas of responsibility.Provides oversight of inventories, usage data, and ordering of consumable supplies and equipment repairs.Prepares work and time schedules, under the direction of the Manager/Director, coordinating vacation and holiday time and reviewing daily adjustments in the work schedule.Promotes and supervises a culture of safety, hand hygiene, patient experience, as well as employee engagement and retention.Supervises the work of subcontractors and/or EVS suppliers for the department as needed.Adheres to all organizational safety, risk management, and infection control and prevention standards. Promotes a culture of patient safety through observation and education.Coaches team members on the chain of infection and the core principles of the transmission of infectious pathogens.Responds to emergency calls and multiple priorities as needed to coordinate staffing changes and minimize disruption.Conduct patient and staff interviews to evaluate service levels and promote positive public relations. Actively participates and contributes to efforts to improve patient experience and cleanliness scores and key departmental performance metrics.Controls expenditures within sphere of approved budget objectives. Take corrective action when variances affect budget.In alignment with Organizational Initiatives, develops/maintains a culture where people want to come to work.Employee Engagement Nurture a culture of healthy well-being with EVS Team.Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 12:30am, subject to change with departmental needsIn addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:High School diploma or equivalent3 Years in Environmental Services experienceStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management.Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, PM software, and EVS software systems preferred.Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery.Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the principles of environmental infection prevention and control.Demonstrates strong working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, DOT, CDC Policy and Standard Work development/implementation.Bi-lingual candidates (English/Spanish) strongly preferredMedium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 25 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly.Following a major expansion, Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley's capacity tripled, now housing 171 beds to serve our growing community.
