We are excited to have you as a part of the City of Baltimore TeamA WWW Stores Supervisor II plans and coordinates the receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, materials and supplies in warehousing and supply distribution facilities. Work of this class involves directing the activities of stores and warehousing work units.Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office where there is minimal exposure to environmental hazards. Work requires minimal physical exertion.Minimum QualificationsOn or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:Education: Have an associate's degree from an accredited college or university.And Experience: Have five years of experience in storing and issuing equipment and supplies including one year of such supervisory responsibilities as disciplining, evaluating the performance of and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of stores personnel.Or Notes (Equivalences): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-supervisory experience or education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.Knowledges, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of modern materials handling methods and procedures.Knowledge of the methods of receiving, storing and distributing large quantities of supplies, materials and equipment.Knowledge of the maintenance of inventory controls and control records.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, City agency personnel and associates.Ability to utilize standard business computer software programs and the internet to perform routine research and to enter and maintain inventory and distribution of records.Supervisory ability.Background CheckNote: Those eligibles who are under final consideration for appointment will be required to authorize the release of criminal conviction information.ProbationAll people, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.EligibilityQualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months.
