Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Scientist with a strong background in catalysis to support our research and development efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with catalytic processes, materials, and reactor systems. You will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing catalytic reactions for ammonia synthesis, contributing to our mission of creating sustainable and eco-friendly solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, execution, and optimization of experiments focusing on catalytic processes for low-temperature and low-pressure ammonia synthesis.
  • Develop and test novel catalytic materials, focusing on improving yield, efficiency, and stability under various operating conditions.
  • Perform detailed kinetic studies to understand reaction mechanisms and catalyst performance, including activation energy, reaction orders, and rate constants.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to integrate experimental findings into reactor design and process optimization.
  • Use advanced analytical techniques (e.g., BET, TGA, TEM, XRD, XPS, GC-MS, NMR) to characterize catalysts and reaction products, ensuring consistent performance and scalability.
  • Implement rigorous data analysis protocols, using statistical methods and modeling software to interpret experimental results, draw conclusions, and guide next steps.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and maintain high standards for lab documentation, including experimental setup, procedure details, and post-experiment analyses.
  • Regularly review and stay updated on the latest advancements in catalytic processes, green technology, and sustainable chemical production, incorporating new knowledge into ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, chemical engineers, and project managers to align R&D efforts with the company's broader strategic goals.
  • Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders, contributing to patents, technical reports, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Support junior staff, including mentoring, providing training, and overseeing lab operations to ensure efficient workflows and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (preferred) or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a specialization in catalysis or chemical process development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in catalysis research, preferably within ammonia synthesis, or similar heterogeneous catalytic systems.
  • Strong expertise in surface science, reaction kinetics, and mechanism elucidation.
  • Proven track record in developing and optimizing heterogeneous catalysts, from lab-scale to pilot or commercial applications.
  • Proficiency in using advanced analytical tools (e.g., BET, TGA, TEM, XRD, XPS, GC-MS, NMR) for catalyst characterization and process monitoring.
  • Experience with chemical process simulation and data analysis software (e.g., Aspen, MATLAB, Python) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical data to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team, with strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
