As part of the team, each contribution is integral to the overall success of the company.Role Summary: The Technical Training Manager is responsible for enhancing and ensuring our technical training systems are effective at improving the technical proficiency and expertise of Pl's manufacturing teams at all manufacturing locations. The focus is on machine technicians, extrusion operators, quality control engineers, tool and die makers, and machine fabricators. This position assesses company-wide technical developmental needs to drive training initiatives, as well as identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for team members. This position partners closely with onsite Technical Trainers, Production, Shop, Quality and HR leaders to creatively design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance expertise, and recognize performance. To be successful in this role, you should have solid experience organizing and enhancing technical training programs, designing educational curricula, and managing technical training resources with both direct and indirect control.Personality and Interest Profile: You may enjoy this role if you: Understand the complexities of precise, high-speed manufacturing and can translate shop floor knowledge and expertise of the processes and equipment into a broad range of training and learning methodologies. Developing the related implementation plan in conjunction with the site technical trainers, production, shop and quality leaders and monitoring progress against this plan. Developing training programs and objectives for all technical competencies within PI in collaboration with the technical training team. Managing direct reports responsible for implementing and delivering training initiatives. Obtaining and/or developing effective training materials utilizing a variety of media and methods of instruction. Training and coaching the leaders and others involved in technical development efforts. Ensuring technical training documentation is thorough and meets or exceeds the ISO standards of each plant. Developing and maintaining communications to ensure team members are aware of training events and resources. Ensuring that preparations are made to utilize training time effectively. Conducting follow-up activities of all completed training to evaluate and measure. Coordinating training at all five US-based facilities to ensure quality and consistency in training modules. Understanding the needs and constraints of audience and leaders to modify programming as needed. Exemplifying the Pl culture and philosophies of the organization. Working effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR team.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Five years of experience designing, implementing and improving technical training programs. Understanding of adult learning techniques. Desired Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to implement and drive change at various organizational levels. Strong organizational capabilities. Strong presentation skills. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Ability to design and implement effective technical training and development. Familiar with working in a multi-cultural environment and accustomed to working with people from a variety of backgrounds. Available to travel up to 50% with expectation of 20% on average.
