 Registered Nurse Job Description

The Registered Nurse will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. The Registered Nurse must be able to perform the following essential functions as demonstrated by the ability to:

·        Assist in overseeing and evaluating HHA

·        Assist in guiding staffing procedures and initiate corrective action as necessary.

·        Make management reports and special assignments and adhere to established time schedules turning in documentation no later than 48 hours.

·        Report to upper management

·        Performs other related duties as directed by the Administrator.

·        Resolve issues and deficiencies as necessary.

·        Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations.

·        Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration.

·        Excellent ability to lead and develop HHA personnel.

·        Respond to any nursing-related issues in a timely manner.

·        Ensure all necessary documents and records are accurate and up to date.

·        Conduct meetings for the purposes of planning, coordinating and implementing HHA service policies and procedures.

·        Establish good public relations with hospital discharge coordinators and social services.

·        Communicate as needed with HHA providing clear, concise information as well as specific assignments.

·        Direct implementation of “Patient Bill of Rights”

·        Evaluate care as related to individualized client / patient needs, family involvement and the physician’s plan of care for the client / patient.

·        Assess client / patient care needs and assist in the development of individualized plans of care.

·        Maintain patients’ data and medical records.

·        Tracks and documents all client / patient interactions, analyzes the associated data and makes recommendations to management to improve the client / patient experience.

·        Organizes and manages office records and materials associated with the client / patient.

·        Great communication and people skills

·        Outstanding organizational skills

·        Consistently demonstrate responsibility, accountability and dependability

·        Act as a Charge Nurse and apply the 48-hour rule, always, in the best interest of the agency.

Requirements:

·        Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience

·        Homecare experience preferred.

·        Certified nursing and CPR qualifications

·        Aptitude for problem solving.

·        Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy.

·        Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

·        Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

·        Ability to work independently or with a team.
