1st Shift Engineering Technician

TCI has an immediate need for an Engineering Technician in Melbourne, FL. This is not a C2C opportunity. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
NOTE: This position requires US Citizenship and a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start.
SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician will work 1st Shift Monday – Thursday (four – 10hour shifts) and perform troubleshooting and repairing of electronics in a lab environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, and/or electromechanical areas.
- Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Works from and thoroughly understands schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- May work with complex machines or computer systems.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and troubleshooting circuits.
- Must have electronic or electromechanical background.
- Microsoft Windows knowledge.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail (detail-oriented environment)
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Associates Degree.
- Experience updating ticket systems and asset tracking databases.
- Equivalent experience in advanced Microsoft Excel query building and data mining skills.
