JOB SUMMARY FOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER:


  • This role supports the Electrification initiative by providing test engineering for a range of components, from small internal parts (like PCBs and current sensors) to full power inverters and DC-DC converters. It directly impacts machine success by ensuring components are prepared for builds and ultimately for production.



RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER:


  • Plan, setup, instrument, run, teardown, document, and share test results
  • Low Voltage testing (24V)
  • High Voltage Testing (50V-4000V)
  • Environmental testing coordination and monitoring (Thermal cycle, vibration, etc.)
  • This role will work directly with design engineers and other lab test engineers / technicians.
  • Detailed test planning with designers through results communication
  • The role will be in one of the Power Electronics Labs in Mossville.
  • Test engineers have seats located outside the labs (with designers) and execute the test work in the lab spaces.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience desired
  • Master’s Degree and/or PHD with 1+ years of experience.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER:


  • Experience with electric drive systems and/or components
  • Previous product development experience (design, validation/test or analysis).
  • Previous experience with High Voltage Testing preferred
  • Experience with structured FMEA & DVP&R process
  • Experience with CAT NPI Programs and Processes
  • Experience with NPI Issue resolution process
  • Champion of safety in all test work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Solid organizational and facilitation skills
