This on-ground position is integral to student success, ensuring high-quality clinical experiences while supporting instruction in the laboratory. Responsibilities: The adjunct (part-time) faculty member should respond, in a timely manner, to specific and general information requests or questions from the ST program director, prospective employers, clinical sites, and students, as appropriate. At all times, promote appropriate standards of the CST profession in both actions and in communication. Ensure that all academic program requirements and forms of documentation (e.g., clinical evaluations, competency documentation) are completed as required for each student and submitted per established deadlines. Visit the clinical affiliate sites and evaluate the surgical technology students on their skill performances. Assist with instruction and assist with evaluations of the surgical technology students in Laboratory activities. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree required. A graduate of a Surgical Technology program that is nationally recognized and has programmatic accreditation by an accrediting agency. (CAAHEP or ABHES) Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Experience A minimum of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years. Strong communication skills. Prior teaching experience and/or practical/clinical experience in Surgical Technology. Licensure Documentation of CST certification is required.
