Clerk III

This is a temporary position from May 1, , to August 31, .
The summer intern position is open to current high school and college students who are interested in learning about state government administration and records management practices and procedures, while gaining valuable experience working for the State of Texas. This position provides support to the Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) Records Management Team. The summer intern position completes records management-related assignments including, but not limited to, reviewing procurement files for completeness, researching and verifying contract-related data in various databases, and entering data into Microsoft Excel. Additionally, the summer intern position may assist with special projects and assignments for the division’s various procurement teams, the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program, the Procurement Financial Support Team.
Other duties may also be assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Reviews procurement files for accuracy and completeness.
Enters data into an automated system.
Maintains confidential records, files, and/or logs.
Communicates on a basic level with others to provide, exchange, or verify information.
May assist in preparing reports and/or other communications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Basic knowledge of office procedures.
Basic knowledge of computers and standard office software applications.
Skill in the operation of computer and general office equipment.
Ability to read, comprehend, and apply instructions.
Ability to maintain departmental records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
