AECOM is seeking a Entry Level Civil Engineer to be based in Virginia Beach, VA

This position is expected to begin in December 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with reviewing plans and schedules; conducting or coordinating reviews for complex projects that the program management team is responsible for.
  • Perform engineering modeling, design, and graphics support work for engineers and project managers.
  • Assist with preparing/reviewing cost estimates, budgets and schedules.
  • Support preparation of plans, reports and calculations for client approval.
  • Conduct field engineering investigations and planning work.
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and multi-discipline professionals.
  • Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files.
  • Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support.
  • Assist with plans, schedules for the development of bridging documents.
  • Conducts or coordinates construction services on projects of moderate scope.
  • Develop to assist in the management of projects tasks.
  • Under guidance conduct field inspections of installed infrastructure works against design documents.
  • Under guidance, the review of design submittals for construction.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis in water resources.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT Registration.
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • The ability to work well in a team-oriented and inclusive Program Management Organization culture.
  • Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, hydrologic/hydraulic models.
  • 1 year relevant water infrastructure related experience.
