Duties

The supervisor will exercise technical and administrative duties over employees performing work in the trades field such as maintenance mechanic, equipment operator, tractor operator, electrical, masonry, carpentry, plumbing and heating and air conditioning mechanic work. The supervisor will be the subject matter expert of these positions and provide direction and instruction for accomplishing trades work and ensure compliance with all OSHA, Environmental, Safety, and Code Compliance. The supervisor will be the park's water operator and will supervise a water operator in training. The supervisor will ensure compliance for all work is completed prior to starting the work and will ensue that all mitigations are followed by work crews. The supervisor will conduct or provide employee training in all areas to include work specific training, time keeping, historic preservation, safety, personal protective equipment training, job hazard analysis, mowing training, chain saw training, tree removal, snow removal training and so forth. Supervisory administrative duties include timekeeping, tracking and approving leave, extra hours requests, preparing personnel packages for classification, and recruiting vacant and/or new positions. The supervisor will conduct annual employee performance evaluations and midyear reviews. The supervisor will be a purchase card approving official and ensure all purchases are within standards and ensure card holders complete monthly credit card statements and purchase logs. The supervisor will keep the Facility Manager updated on work status and any emergency situations. Additionally, the supervisor will provide both short and long range project planning for execution within the 5-Year plan, project building and may serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). The supervisor will use software to include PMIS, PEPC, and FMSS. The supervisor oversees the operational response to emergencies such as storm damage, traffic accident damage, and/or special events which require immediate attention.

U.S. Citizenship required. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You will be required to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment. In addition, this position is subject to random testing for illegal drug use. You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license. You must possess/obtain within 365 days of EOD and maintain a current Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License. You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle. You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime. If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period. You must possess/obtain within 365 days of EOD and maintain a Kentucky Class 1 D water license. Occasional travel may be required. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

Requirements Continued: Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the selectee lives outside of the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulation.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Documentation for the eligibility, submission of ALL SF-50s and performance information for each period of temporary/term employment that qualifies for LMWFA. Performance documentation can be obtained by contacting the supervisors for the positions you served in during your 24 months. If they did not complete performance appraisals, ask them to provide a statement of performance for each period of service. The statement must specify the dates for each employment period and your level of performance (dates should match the dates on the SF-50s).

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
