The Application Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the application engineering team to support the commercial sales team in the technical application of Branson products. The individual in this role will oversee the daily activities of our Application Engineers, who review customers' technical needs and recommend solutions, and inspire a culture of innovation towards new solutions for customers' challenges. In addition to driving Emerson goals, the Application Engineering Manager will work to develop talent and ensure quality.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Assemble machinery and equipment based on technical drawings and specifications.

  • Provide support and training to the engineering team responsible for application engineering.
  • Build and maintain the team's expertise on Branson equipment and their applications.
  • Ensure uniform and quality practices within the group, including feasibility studies, lab procedures, and other documentation.
  • Support customer approval of tooling and application development (run-offs, customer visits and customer site visits).
  • Support sales and marketing events (seminar, trade shows, training, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain performance indicators to ensure high standards of performance and minimal lead-time.
  • Support manufacturing, R&D, tooling engineering, sale representatives, and customers with technical information, which may include supplier and customer visits.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive products and developments.
  • Develop talent, mentoring, and coaching including designing employee training programs, building succession plans and crafting an internal promotion process.
  • Own costing estimates for tool and system quotations.
  • Handle special projects or tasks as assigned by management.


WHO YOU ARE: You are an effective leader who efficiently directs teams, mentors staff, and develops training programs. You have a strong track record in implementing consistent quality practices, overseeing feasibility studies, and maintaining thorough documentation. You excel in managing complexity across varied operational environments, optimizing workflows, and establishing performance metrics to ensure efficiency and high standards. Your excellent communication skills enable seamless collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring adaptive responses to challenges and successful project execution.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 2+ years' experience managing an engineering, application, or process team
  • Extensive experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks, NX, SolidEdge, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically capable of transporting materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25%), both domestic and international
