Assembly Superintendent

Job Summary:
The primary function of the Assembly Superintendent is to manage and direct all erections and assemblies in the Laydown area at both facilities with a focus on safety, quality, production, and team building. Lead a team of Laydown Foremen in a continuous improvement environment and ensure shop assembly schedules are meet.
This position reports directly to the Production Manager while collaborating closely with corporate leaders such as the Maintenance Manager, Operations Coordinators, Shop Superintendents, Safety Directors, and Quality Manager in a cross-functional matrix to support all laydown needs.

Essential Functions:

• Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed.
• Manage and direct all day-to-day laydown erections by leading a team of foreman with a focus on Safety, Quality, and production.
• Be aware of all project specific technical specifications and schedules to know if material is fabricated and time is allowed for completion. Coordinate with Shop Superintendents for priorities and schedule.
• Review all drawings and know and understand what work that will be in laydown and plan for where, who and how the work will be done.
• Know all laydown personnel and their attributes to plan for most productive placement of laydown personnel.
• Ensure the laydown department is adequately staffed for all shifts to meet erection needs by evaluating shortfalls and relaying information to Management.
• Ensure the laydown area has the equipment and consumables needed to meet erection needs by communicating with appropriate point of contact.
• Ensure Laydown Foreman follow all shop procedures and company policies by using established procedures and documentation while meeting production goals.
• Inform senior management of any issues that will affect production, quality, or safety.
• Coach and develop all laydown personnel and determine what training they require and what position they can fill that will benefit the laydown department the most.
• Must be able to follow directives of senior management and direct Laydown Foreman efficiently to follow-up on all directives given.

Additional Duties:

• Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations.

Must be able to erect and assemble all projects and ensure procedures are followed per guidelines, codes, and specifications.

Teamwork
Teamwork is essential in this position and the Assembly Superintendent must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff.

Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with safety department.

Qualifications
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

The Assembly Superintendent must have a background in supervision, coaching, managing processes, process improvement, production planning and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Education and/or Experience
High School education and a minimum of five years' experience in supervision in D1.5 bridge fabrication with a focus on AISC and D1.5 code work.

Capable in Microsoft office programs such as excel and word.

Language Skills
The Assembly Superintendent must communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally and in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers.

Reporting
Reports to Production Manager.
