AECOM is seeking a Graduate Engineer for our office in Houston, TX to support our Water Resources practice in the Houston Metro Area. AECOM is one of the nation's leading water resources firms with opportunities to work with a wide variety of clients on water resources planning, engineering, and design projects. The successful candidate will have relevant experience/interest in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, green infrastructure / low impact development, water quality modeling / monitoring, coastal analyses, and civil infrastructure design. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing specific tasks and limited portions of broader assignments and will receive close supervision, guidance, and mentoring from experienced engineers in the office.

This position is expected to begin in January 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience/interest in one or more of the following areas: hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, green infrastructure / low impact development, water quality modeling / monitoring, coastal engineering and analyses, coastal science, and civil infrastructure design.

  • Engineer-in-Training certification, or ability to obtain certification within 1 year of hire

  • Knowledge of the following software: AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
