PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source and purchase materials, components, and services required for our San Antonio, TX and Wichita, KS manufacturing facilities.
- Ensures timely receipt of ordered material to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Secure suppliers of materials and services including logistics that meet quality, price, and delivery requirements.
- Manage category spending for sister facilities as assigned.
- Negotiates agreements for terms and price.
- Maintain supplier insurance file.
- Assist with annual bid packages.
- Handle account discrepancies and insure proper payment of bills.
- Wear appropriate PPE in required areas.
- Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent mix of education and experience
- Previous experience as a buyer in a manufacturing related environment
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or control; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
