Care First Rehabilitation is looking for compassionate, reliable, motivated individuals to join our growing team  At Care First, we care for clients who have traumatic brain injuries from car accidents.  We have six different residential/AFC homes that our CNA's, therapists, and nurses work in (five in Troy, one in Farmington).

  • You do not have to be state certified for this position, although it does affect compensation ($16 vs $17)
  • $1,000, quarterly, attendance incentive program
  • Lunches and dinners are catered, by our chef, for the clients, Mon-Fri
  • Annual PTO Accrual is 10 days (80 hours) and begins accruing immediately
  • Ability to pick up open shifts for OT
  • Entire team of nurses, behavior therapists, and other therapists (SLP, OT, PT, CTRS, etc) who provide additional support to our clients and staff on a daily basis
  • Ability to have a set schedule (ex. will work around nursing school schedule)
  • You will only be scheduled in one or two houses for the first 90 days of employment
  • No certifications required
  • Any hours over 40 hours per week is time and a half
  • Employee Referral Program; can receive $150 stipend for successful employee referrals

Key responsibilities:

  • Being able to work 12 hour shifts in each of our 6 AFC homes (Troy AND Farmington)
  • Providing full care to clients in a manner that considers safety, clients’ rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
  • Keeping the AFC homes clean and sanitized
  • Assisting clients with daily activities (ADLs): light meal preparation, feeding, bathing/hygiene, toileting, etc.
  • Supervising and engaging with clients during community outings such as recreational events and doctor appointments.
  • Modeling and encouraging positive behavior.
  • Completing all assigned training courses to meet licensing and facility requirements.
  • Demonstrating compassion and patience for all clients on a daily basis
  • Must be able to follow directives in a positive and effective manner
  • Must maintain an appropriate, respectful, and professional relationship with our clients

Requirements

  • Must be able to work full time (3, 12 hour, shifts per week)
  • Must be able to attend a day of orientation from 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Must be able to rotate weekends (every other Saturday and Sunday)
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must have experience assisting clients with ADLs
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to operate company vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be compassionate, patient, reliable and hard working
  • Must not sleep during either shift
