Seeking an individual with basic veterinary technical skills for a busy small animal and exotic practice in Abingdon, MD. Candidate must be able to work efficiently while maintaining a friendly, client service based approach. We are in search of someone who is personable, has a positive attitude, is excited about their profession and willing to continue to learn. We function as a team and support each other. The position entails being able to draw blood samples and process them, place IV catheters and fluid set up, administer medications whether oral or injectable, animal handling techniques, set up clients in exam rooms, basic knowledge of vaccines, filling prescriptions, taking radiographs, overseeing hospitalized patients and attending to their needs. If the candidate has expertise in the area of anesthesia and surgery, we are happy to rotate them in this schedule. You will see a lot, do a lot, and learn so much.
