AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer to be based in our Chicago, IL office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

This position is expected to begin in May 2023.

The Entry-Level Environmental Engineer will support our Remediation team in our Chicago, IL office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career.
The successful candidate will have a background in Environmental Engineering. Knowledge of environmental investigations and remediation is preferred.

Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.

  • Prepares reports for site investigation, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and compliance projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.

  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.

  • Positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

  • Field work will be required including oversight of subcontractors.

  • Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs( i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
